Originally from Savannah, Georgia, McKinnon Powell has spent the past fifteen years in Los Angeles building his career as an actor and writer.
His work is grounded in personal experience, using storytelling as a way to explore connection, loss, and the complexities of being human.

McKinnon trained in the Meisner technique at Playhouse West and studied improv at IO West, UCB, and the Groundlings. He also holds an MFA in Writing for Visual Media from the University of California, Riverside, where he further developed his voice across film and television.
His original screenplay Magical Things was named a Screencraft Quarterfinalist and a Finalist in the Southern California Screenplay Competition.
Outside of his work, McKinnon enjoys spending time outdoors, experiencing the arts, and being with his husband and their two dogs.
